The bath is free-standing, the floorboards oak and there is a little Aga with the towel bar at just the right height to perch against. These things matter.
On the other hand, there is no television, no road noise and no diesel fumes. It does have Starlink, so if work (or streaming video) is unavoidable, you won't feel cut off entirely from the world.
